Dr. Carol Hill


Carol Hill was born in Miami, Florida and came to Texas in 1967 to attend Abilene Christian University. She was a member of the ACU Big Purple Band, the Debate Team, and a student member of the Texas Speech & Hearing Association. She was married to Loran Hill in 1970 after they met at ACU as partners on the debate team. They have one son, Charles Robert, daughter-in-law, Michelle, and twin granddaughters, Lauren and Hailey. They share their home with an English cocker spaniel, Cricket and Ranger, a Sheltie. Hill's hobbies include being a grandmother, reading, gardening, doll collecting and finding treasures in consignment stores. She and her husband enjoy traveling by car and have visited 48 states, lacking only Wisconsin and Hawaii. She was employed at Hardin-Simmons in January of 1998. Then she was named department head in 1999 and granted tenured in 2002. In 2011, she was promoted to professor.
