HSU hosts alumni event with the Houston Astros

For the very first time, the Hardin-Simmons alumni relations held an HSU Day at the Houston Astros. Much like the Texas Rangers game hosted on June 1, custom baseball caps were made and given to the first 1,000 people who purchased a ticket.

With students and alumni requesting to attend an Astros game with HSU, it is no surprise there were hundreds of Hardin-Simmons fans in the audience cheering the team on as they crushed the Blue Jays with a final score of 7-2.

“I was born and raised an Astros fan,” said Ryanne Krueger, senior. “So being able to go with my Dad and sister, Jessyca, was great. I had been waiting for HSU to go to Houston since they started going to the Rangers, and you can bet I’ll be at every Astros game HSU hosts!” Ryanne is a senior at Hardin-Simmons while her sister just graduated last year. This game was a chance for the two sisters to come together and bond with their father one last time for Father’s Day before Jessyca moves away for the summer.

The next event that alumni relations will be hosting is HSU night at Texas Outdoor Musical on June 21. If interested, you may buy your tickets online here: https://connect.hsutx.edu/texas-musical. The meal begins at 6 p.m., and the show begins at 8:30 p.m.
