On Tuesday, April 27, Hardin-Simmons University hosted a prayer breakfast in honor of the National Day of Prayer.

With the official holiday approaching in early May, Dr. Travis Carver, Director of Chapel and Spiritual Formation at HSU, hoped to create an event bringing the community of Abilene together with a time of reflection and prayer for our city, as well as for specific sectors of our community. Education workers, people in the medical field, first responders, and other civic servants were recognized during the event.

Mayor of Abilene, Anthony Williams, was present as well as representatives from the Abilene Fire Department and local school districts to offer prayers of protection and gratitude.
