This two-week Health Sciences Summer Enrichment Program (HSSEP) at Hardin-Simmons University (HSU) offers an opportunity for high school students (grades 10-12 at the time of application) who are interested in the health sciences to strengthen their skills in science and mathematics in a college environment.
The program aims to build confidence in students’ ability to master science skills at the college level and to expose students to a variety of healthcare career options. HSSEP at HSU consists of a combination of college lectures, engaging labs, and interactive sessions with healthcare professionals and their workplaces. Lecture and lab classes in biology, chemistry, and mathematics will be offered.
Students will also be introduced to a range of health careers through sessions with professionals and tours of healthcare training facilities. Upon completion, students will receive quantitative feedback on their strengths and weaknesses.
