School of Music Performances

Experience HSU's bands and jazz ensemble

 

There are many opportunities to hear music at HSU. As the semester comes to a close, the School of Music will showcase their talent with several performances.

The "World Famous" Cowboy Band, directed by Dr. Wayne Dorothy, will play for the children attending Western Heritage Day on Thursday. Their performance will be from 12:05-12:45 p.m. at the north end of Sandefer Hall.

The Cowboy Band will also play for the students of Johnston Elementary School on Friday, April 28 from 2:00-2:40 p.m.

The HSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Jeff Cottrell, will be performing on Tuesday, May 2 from 7:30-8:30 p.m. in Van Ellis Theatre.

The HSU Concert Band will be performing on Thursday, May 4 under the direction of Dr. Wayne Dorthy. Their performance will be from 7:30-8:30 pm in Behrens Auditorium.

Many student recitals will also take place in upcoming weeks. See the HSU events calendar for more details. In addition, the Charles Coltman Memorial Scholarship Recital will take place on April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Woodward-Dellis Recital Hall.
