Students interested in seeking jobs in their fields should mark their calendars for the upcoming career fairs in April.  The Tri-University Teacher Job Fair, Health Care Job Fair, and West Central Texas Virtual Career Fair will be held April 7, 13, and 14, respectively.

First up is the Tri-University Teacher Job Fair on April 7 in the Abilene Civic Center from 10 a.m. to noon, featuring more than 50 school districts. The event is organized by HSU, Abilene Christian University, and McMurry University to assist students looking for teaching jobs and help districts efficiently find qualified candidates.

The Health Care event is aimed at students studying Athletic Training, Biology, Exercise Science, Chemistry, Nursing, Communication Sciences, and Psychology, among many other health fields.  It will be held April 13 at the Abilene Civic Center from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

The West Texas Central Virtual Career Fair, however, will be a bit different than a normal career fair.  It will be held online instead of a determined place, eliminating travel cost and time for students and employers alike.  In a virtual chat room, students will be able to conduct video interviews, easily upload their resumes, and view countless jobs and career opportunities.

“Students seeking internships, full-time careers, and those seeking graduate school are encouraged to participate,” said Wendy Smith of HSU Career Services. “These three career fairs provide opportunities to get a leg up on securing employment before graduation.”

Alumni are also encouraged to participate in the career fairs.

Employers and students can register for each of the fairs at the following link: https://www.hsutx.edu/student-life/career-services/career-fairs/
