HSU’s Fine Arts Department held a concert on Friday and Saturday night entertaining students with rock music from the ’60s, ’70s, ’80s, ’90s and today. Songs ranged from Bohemian Rhapsody to Johnny Cash classics.

“I got to perform in a very different way than I am accustomed and work with some really outstanding instrumentalists,” Brenna Sheridan, a sophomore musical major from Weatherford, said. “ I loved every minute!”

The HSU Rocks concert featured students showcasing their talents as singers and musicians, and a few recognizable professors’ faces also made their debut.

“I enjoyed performing at HSU Rocks, especially for my students,” said Dr. Andrew Potter, professor of mathematics and head of the HSU Department of Mathematics. “It was a chance for them to see their mathematics professor in a completely different light.”

The event served as a fundraiser for music and theatre students to travel abroad this summer. The music department is headed to Ireland and Scotland, and the theatre department has plans to attend the Fringe Festival, the largest arts festival in the world, in Edinburgh, Scotland.
