HSU was 1 of 1,200 schools recently honored to receive a Military Friendly Award. This award establishes HSU as a recognized college for recruiting and supporting post-military students.

Diana Hall, secretary of the HSU Military Veterans Organization, said, “The Military Friendly award means that HSU cares about investing in the successful completion of higher education for veteran students.”

The Military Friendly honor looks at three main categories from the institution or company’s recruiting program when distributing awards. It considers the institution’s recruitment of prospective military students, the education process of the military student, and the measure of the employment of the military student.

Hall said, “HSU offers a positive experience by working with the Veteran Organization on campus to meet the needs of the students.”  She added that Kimberly Beal, HSU’s Veteran Benefits Coordinator, deserves recognition for her continued efforts toward keeping the school as one of the nation’s top military-friendly educational institutions.

Military Friendly is the military ratings division of Victory Media. Military Friendly’s website describes its goal as desiring to, “Create maximum professional opportunity for our nation’s military service members, veterans and military spouses.”

The company promotes the results from Military Friendly to the military community.
