On March 31, President Bruntmyer and President Thad Anglin of Cisco College signed an articulation agreement, specifying which courses at Cisco will transfer to HSU. This agreement simplifies the process for students enrolled in community college to continue their education at a four-year university.

Dr. Laura Pogue, Dean of General Education, emphasized this agreement’s importance as the majority of HSU’s transfers come from Cisco.

“We’re trying to make a clear pathway from community college to Hardin-Simmons. We want to reach out to these students to let them know that they will have the support that they need to finish a four year degree and maybe even go on to a graduate degree,” she said.

The agreement will go into effect in Fall 2017 providing Cisco students with a clear course comparisons and HSU admissions counselors who will help them apply for admission and scholarships.

HSU currently has academic partnerships with San Marcos Baptist Academy and Abilene ISD.  Pogue hopes to add even more in the future, beginning with Midland College on April 18.

“We have to think creatively and outside of the box to foster these relationships. They are a part of both our academic mission and our Christian mission,” she said.
