Career Services brought in HSU Alumna, Kimmy Mauldin, with AmeriCorps Reading Partners and Ashely Burk with Habitat for Humanity (Waco) to talk to students about the possibilities that are available to them through these organizations.

Wendy Smith, Director Career Services, said, “Info sessions with organizations are a great way to build awareness. These info sessions provide students with the opportunity to learn about the organization, ask questions and connect with professionals.”

Students also were given the opportunity to sign up for mini-interviews with the two representatives to discuss resumes and job opportunities. A free lunch was offered to students who attended and an opportunity to win a $50 Amazon gift card.

Charelle Marshall, senior psychology major said, “I was glad that they had this event because it helps students look for jobs. It was cool because I don’t remember HSU having an event like this from the past where HSU Alumni get to talk about their experiences through the program.”
