“Coming back from Spring Break always feels tiring because it seems like there is so much work to do so Black Light Breakdown is a good way to have some fun,” says Olivia Bodiford, sophomore nursing major.

Late Friday students gathered in the Basement of Moody Center to have some fun and dance out the post Spring Break blues. The foot function included all the latest on the top 40 playlist, a room full of glow in the dark paint, and of course black lights!

Participants of this event, put on by Student Activities, were given a free white t-shirt meant to get splattered with paint as the party music played on. Students danced and had fun with paint until they were covered. Bodiford says, “I even got paint in my ear, but I wasn’t mad. It was totally funny.”

Bodiford mentioned that, “this is an event I always look forward to.” Student Activities puts on Black Light Breakdown annually and usually in the spring semester, so if you missed your chance, it’ll come back around again this time next year.

Upcoming events for Student Life include a Quidditch Tournament, school wide Easter Egg Hunt, Dessert Party, Water Games, a chili cookoff and a birthday celebration for Gilbert the goose, an “unofficial” mascot here at Hardin-Simmons.
