Dr. Scott Brown


For the past 25+ years, Dr. Scott Brown has served the Abilene area providing counseling and assessment services to children and adults, holding licenses as a Psychologist and Specialist in School Psychology. He has conducted over three hundred evaluations per year for the past twenty-five years for local foster care, protective services, disability determination, and private referrals.  He has provided supervision to a number of doctoral and master’s level students who were pursuing licensure, and has taught courses for local universities, including Hardin-Simmons University for the past five years.  Dr. Brown teaches courses in Research, Assessment, Substance Abuse, Professional Mental Health, Advanced Addictions, and Neuroscience of Addictions.  Dr. Brown has offered stress management courses to various agencies and has held seminars for learning how to parent children displaying oppositional behaviors.  He has served on a variety of Boards and has served as past President of the Abilene Psychological Association.  Dr. Brown maintains membership in professional organizations including the American Counseling Association, Texas Psychological Association and the Association for Addiction Professionals.

Brown is active in the local community and is active in his local church.  He enjoys spending time with his wife, playing tennis, and visiting their three children and grandchildren.
