HSU Seniors Plan Art Show and Reception

An aspiring group of art students from Hardin-Simmons University will be hosting the opening of their senior class show, Fresh 2 Deaf , Thursday, March 7, 2013, at the Cockerell Galleries and Studios, “Upstairs,” in studio #214.
 
Sarah Clower, a senior art major from Benjamin, Texas, says, “The artists’ works include a wide variety of subject matter, size, and medium, and range from whimsical to thought-provoking. Viewers are sure to find some of the works relatable and others shocking.” 
 
Mediums displayed will include painting, drawing, ink, graphic design, printmaking, photography, pastels, and digital media. As part of their classwork, senior students are required to address and attend to all of the elements of putting on a showing of their work, including promotion of the event.
 
Featured art students are: Doug Adams, Tymon Aguilar, Ashton Brown, Kasey Chavez, Sarah Clower, Briana Esquivel, Fernando Hernandez, Kristin Lucco, Kurt Shreckengast, and Tabitha Vanderstoep.
 
The reception begins at 6 p.m. March 7, 2013. The show will continue through March 15, including Artwalk on March 14.

The Six White Horses bear the six flags which have flown over the state of Texas, representing 8 changes of sovereignty. The Six White Horses have been featured along side the Cowboy Band and have marched in parades throughout Texas and the world; in the inaugural parades of 5 American presidents, Brazil, Russia, and down famous streets as New York’s Broadway.
