Selected Work by Gregory Tegarden

Closing Reception: Thursday, February 7, 5:00pm – 6:30pm
 
On display is a selection of large, ceramic work by artist and professor Gregory Tegarden, instructor of ceramics at Sul Ross State University, in Alpine, Texas.
 

Tegarden’s says his work reveals his passionate connection to nature, “Creatively my pots are derived from the desert, specifically the Big Bend region of the Chihuahuan Desert. The desert, for me, represents the purest form of divinity.”

six white horses

The Six White Horses bear the six flags which have flown over the state of Texas, representing 8 changes of sovereignty. The Six White Horses have been featured along side the Cowboy Band and have marched in parades throughout Texas and the world; in the inaugural parades of 5 American presidents, Brazil, Russia, and down famous streets as New York’s Broadway.
