The university owns approximately 70 houses that are in close proximity to the campus. The units are primarily one bedroom duplexes and two bedroom houses. There are a few of three and four bedroom houses also available. Each unit has central heat, but tenants must provide their own window air conditioners. HSU pays for local phone in all units and water in most. The tenant is responsible for gas, electricity, and cable (if desired) bills. Most houses have washer/dryer hookups. Each unit also has a fenced backyard. One pet is allowed with an additional pet deposit.

Current prices average $300 for one bedroom and $310 for two bedrooms.
