Room measurements represent longest and widest part of the room; wall to wall. Carpet area between beds is 5'10" x 6'7"; between desks it is 8' x 5'9". Beds are built-in, and slide' under built-in shelves when not in use. Beds are 3'6" x 6'7" and are standard twin size. Desks fit under built-in bookshelf. Desktop measures 2' x 5'9". The circle within a square symbol represents a sink. Closets are 5'6" long and 2'9" deep. The Hall is fully equipped with a One Card/Cowboy Cash operated laundry room. Washers are $1.00 per load and dryers are $.75 per load. The lobby areas, hallways and community bathrooms are cleaned daily by HSU's housekeeping staff. The front lobby contains a couch and chairs while the back lobby has couches, chairs, table/chairs, ping-pong table, foosball, snack and soda vending machines and a big-screen TV for entertainment. The lobby is now equipped with a Blu-Ray Player.

Residents are allowed to have a refrigerator in their rooms but not a microwave.  There are microwaves available to residents in the dorm lobby.  All refrigerators must be 4.0 cubic feet or smaller in size.  Residents have the opportunity to rent a microfridge through the HSU housing office.  However HSU has a very limited number of microfridge units to rent and therefore freshmen in Nix and Behrens Halls are given first priority.  Priority is NOT given to those who may have rented a microfridge during previous semesters.  The microfridges may be reserved through a summer mail-out to residents from the Housing Office.  The microfridges are at a lower wattage and therefore approved for the dorm rooms.  Cost per semester for a microfridge from HSU is $70 and may be split between roommates.  Microfridges can be purchased directly at www.microfridge.com.  The microfridge brand is the only accepted microfridge allowed in on-campus housing.  The microfridge must also be 4.0 cubic feet or smaller in size.
