These plans represent the majority of rooms in Behrens Hall. The room measurements represent measurement of widest and longest part of the room. All furniture is moveable. Desktop is 3'10" x 2'3.5" with 3 drawers. Desktop also has a built-in bookshelf and desk lamp and a desk chair is provided with each desk. The longer boxes next to the desks in the regular rooms represent wardrobes which, when opened, have a clothes rod on the left side and 4 shelves on the right. The wardrobes measure 6' tall, 3'8" wide, 1'7" deep. Not all regular rooms have 2 wardrobes. It depends on the availability of the wardrobes. The smaller unlabeled boxes in both room layouts represent dressers which measure 2'6" tall x 2' deep x 2'10.5" wide. The dressers have 6 drawers. Closet measurements range from 3'8" wide x 2'4" deep, 3'6" wide x 5'9" deep and 5' wide x 3' deep. Windows are 75" wide and 59" long. All beds are standard twin. Space below beds is 3 feet.
Other features in Behrens Hall include a lobby with TV/VCR/DVD/BLU-RAY for entertainment, fully equipped dorm kitchen located off the main lobby, basement lobby with snack and soda vending machines, and an ice maker. The basement also houses a laundry room. Washers and dryers are One Card/Cowboy Cash operated with $1.00 per wash load and $.75 per drying load.
All community baths, lobbies and halls are cleaned daily by HSU's housekeeping service. Residents are allowed to have a refrigerator in their rooms but not a microwave. There are microwaves available to residents in the dorm lobby. All refrigerators must be 4.0 cubic feet or smaller in size. Residents have the opportunity to rent a microfridge through the HSU housing office. Priority is NOT given to those who may have rented a microfridge during previous semesters. The microfridges may be reserved through a summer mail-out to residents from the Housing Office. The microfridges are at a lower wattage and therefore approved for the dorm rooms. Cost per semester for a microfridge from HSU is $70 and may be split between roommates. Microfridges can be purchased directly at www.microfridge.com. The microfridge brand is the only accepted microfridge allowed in on-campus housing. The microfridge must also be 4.0 cubic feet or smaller in size.
