Intramurals

To enter an intramural sport, simply fill out an entry form, and submit it to the Rec Staff by the deadline posted on the Intramural Schedule. If you don't have a team, fill out a "Free Agent" form also located in the Rec Office.

A list of sports is located below. If you are already signed up and want to know when your team plays, check out the Game Schedules link also posted in the left menu.

Only currently enrolled students, faculty, staff and alumni are eligible to participate in the HSU Intramural Sports Program.

BRIEF INTRAMURAL DESCRIPTIONS

2 ON 2 Basketball Tournament : Co-Rec
Double-Elimination tournament . Teams consist of two players with no substitutes. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

3 ON 3 Basketball Tournament: Men, Women
Double-Elimination tournament . Teams consist of three players with two possible substitutes. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

5 ON 5 Basketball : Men, Women, Co-Rec
Round robin league play with single-elimination playoffs will be scheduled for classes A, B, and possibly C. Teams consist of five players. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

7 ON 7 Soccer : Men, Women, Co-Rec
Round robin league play with single-elimination playoffs will be scheduled for classes A, B, and possibly C. Teams consist of seven players. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

Chess Tournament: Co-Rec
Single elimination tournament. United States Chess Federation Rules and HSU Intramural exceptions will apply.

3 Pt. Shooting Contest: Men, Women
Individuals will shoot a total of 25 balls as they make their way around the 3-point arc. Each participant will try to make as many shots as possible within the time limit. The person scoring the most points will be declared the winner.

Handball Tournament: Men, Women
Participation will consist of a double elimination tournament. Participants will compete in class A or B. American Amateur Handball Association rules and Hardin-Simmons Intramural exceptions will apply.

Softball: Men, Women, Co-Rec
Round robin league play with single-elimination play-offs will be scheduled for Classes A and B. Teams consist of nine players. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

Tennis Tournament: Men, Women, Co-Rec
Single elimination tournament. Players will compete in Class A or B. United States Tennis Association Rules and HSU Intramural exceptions will apply.

Texas Hold 'Em Tournament: Co-Rec
Participants will compete in a No-Limit Texas Hold'Em poker tournament with prizes going to the top two finishers. Everyone will receive an equal amount of chips at the start of the tournament and whoever wins them all will be declared the champion. Complete rules will be available at the time of sign-up.

Racquetball Tournament: Men, Women, Co-Rec
Participation will consist of a single elimination tournament. Participants will compete in class A or B. Matches will consist of two 15-point games and, if necessary, an 11-point tie-breaker. American Amateur Racquetball Association rules and Hardin-Simmons Intramural exceptions will apply.

4 ON 4 Flag Football Tournament: Men, Women
This is an all-day tournament consisting of teams from both HSU and McMurry. All teams will compete in a double-elimination tournament at the HSU intramural fields. HSU 4 ON 4 intramural rules will apply.

Mini-Golf Tournament : Co-Rec
Men and women compete in the same division. Participants will play one round (18 holes) with the winner accumulating the lowest number of strokes. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

Golf Scramble Tournament : Co-Rec
Men and women compete in the same division. Each two-person team will play one round (18 holes) with the winning team accumulating the lowest number of strokes. HSU Intramural Rules will apply.

Pickleball Tournament : Co-Rec
Participation will consist of a single elimination tournament. Participants will compete in class A or B. Matches will consist of two 15-point games and, if necessary, an 11-point tie-breaker. HSU rules will apply.
