HSU desires to be a place where students mature spiritually and emotionally. To that end, we seek to provide a relevant and challenging chapel program.

Each semester, one can expect to hear from local speakers who speak from a West Texas context, as well as nationally known speakers who challenge us with what is going on in the Church around the world.

One can also expect a great diversity of worship styles presented in chapel, to expose the community to the beauty and creativity of all the major Christian traditions.

Since chapel is required, many students will view it merely as another hurdle to climb in order to get a degree. My hope is that the vast majority of students will come to discover the benefit of chapel, and attend not because they have to, but because they want to.
