The family atmosphere is what stands out to me. From our students to our faculty and staff, everyone makes you feel like you are part of our HSU family. I felt that way as a student when I arrived as a freshman in the fall of 1991. Since that time, I have earned my bachelor's and master's degrees from our university. I began working at HSU in the summer of 1997 as a recruiter. Over the years, I have migrated to a new role that I love. I am the academic advisor for new students and those whose major is undecided. I enjoy coming to work and helping students with their academic needs. The greatest reward of my job is seeing the students cross the stage at graduation and receiving their diploma from HSU.

Married to Cody (HSU alum 1995 & 2003) with two sons; member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church; sing in the sanctuary choir and also teach children's choir and Body & Soul aerobics.
