I taught at public colleges for nine years before coming to HSU and really didn’t know what to expect when I came here. From the very beginning I appreciated the small classes and the opportunity to know my students as people instead of just names on a seating chart. Watching my students grow and mature during their time here and then following their careers after they graduate has been especially rewarding to me. All three of my children are HSU graduates and I’m so glad they chose to come to school here. I don’t think they could have gotten a better education anywhere else. I’ve been here for 21 years and I can’t imagine a better place to work. HSU is a great place to be!

Dr. Alan Stafford has been at HSU since 1986. He currently serves as Dean of the Cynthia Ann Parker College of Liberal Arts, Head of the Department of Criminal Justice, and Professor of Criminal Justice.
