Family…Quality… Character…These are just a few of the reasons why I love Hardin-Simmons University. HSU cares deeply about her two most precious commodities: the people (faculty, staff, current students, and former students) and the level of scholarship in education. HSU is committed to providing a nurturing, caring experience in a Christian environment. Characteristics such as these make coming to work everyday a joy and blessing. Many people in other jobs work for Friday and often comment TGIF (Thank God It’s Friday) signifying an end to the work week. However, working at HSU makes me want to say TGIM (Thank God It’s Monday) signifying the beginning of a new week to make an impact in Christian, higher education. HSU brings out the best in people!
Shane Davidson, a 1988 graduate of Sulphur Springs High School, was promoted to Vice President of Enrollment Management at Hardin-Simmons University in February 2006.
Davidson, who joined the HSU administrative staff in 1997 as the Associate Vice President for Enrollment Services, completed the Doctor of Education in February 2005 from Baylor University majoring in educational administration. His dissertation topic was, “Enrollment Prediction at a Texas Baptist University.”
Davidson, who has served two terms as president of HSU’s Staff Council, is a 1992 graduate of Howard Payne University, Brownwood, with a bachelor of business administration degree in management and social science composite and earned a master of business administration degree in management from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview in 1996.
He came to the HSU campus from Wells Fargo Bank (formerly Norwest) in Lubbock where he was student loan market manager.
He has served on the staffs at both Wayland and Howard Payne universities and as an adjunct instructor of business management for Wayland in their Lubbock campus.
He has been selected as Rookie Board Member of the Year of the American Heart Association in Taylor County. Also, he has served as the president of the Jackson Elementary Parent-Teacher Association and the Madison Middle School Parent-Teacher Association. In 1998, Davidson was chosen for inclusion in the Outstanding Young Man of America publication.
