• Honors Graduates

Honors announced at Commencement are based on the GPA from the prior semester (or Summer terms if course work is taken at Hardin Simmons). The final GPA will include graduated semester. The honors, if acquired, will be printed on the diploma and final transcript.

Honors Cords issued by the Registrar's Office are the only cords allowed to be worn at Commencement. Undergraduates with a GPA of 3.55 or higher with 60 HSU residence hours are eligible to wear an honor cord. Bring your honor cords to the ceremony as these will not be available the day of commencement. Master's and Doctorate candidates are not eligible for honors or to wear honor cords but rather are hooded to indicate your degree during the ceremony.
