The Hardin-Simmons University Office of Marketing and Communications amplifies the brand and identity of HSU by providing products and services which consistently communicate the inherent value, ethical foundations, and historical legacy of our institution. The HSU Office of Marketing & Communications is under the leadership of James C. Stone, Interim Executive Director of Marketing, and is accountable directly to the Office of the President.

Requests for products or services should be submitted electronically via the links to the right. Some products and services may require additional fees beyond material costs. Turnaround time on requests will vary depending on project complexity, strategic alignment, and queue status.

Creative Services Team

The OMC Creative Services team collaborates with internal audiences to develop and create multimedia communication collateral for HSU. The professionally trained staff produces materials, both print and electronic, with special emphasis on maintaining consistent messaging and visual appeal across the university. Additionally, Creative Services manages production of a myriad of publications that serve key HSU constituencies ranging from students, parents, and visitors, to employees and alumni. Creative Services also supervises several student workers who assist staff in meeting the demands of the campus while gaining substantial practical experience and knowledge in areas related to their academic and professional pursuits.

Marketing & Advertising Team

The Marketing and Advertising Team is responsible for managing the overall strategic marketing enterprise of Hardin-Simmons University. Within this, the Marketing and Advertising team assists internal constituents with identification and segmentation of key audiences, formation of message, appropriate selection of communication channels, and measurement of communication effectiveness. Consistency of the university’s brand and identity initiatives, including establishment of standards, enforcement of trademarks, and monitoring of use, are included in the services provided to the university.

The News and Media Relations Team reports on news and develops feature stories on Hardin-Simmons University people, programs, and impact in an effort to reinforce the university’s strategic priorities and generate earned media placement while expanding and growing audiences of interest related to HSU’s mission, purpose, and values. This team also works collaboratively with outside media outlets (print and broadcast) to leverage the voices of faculty experts as contributors for ongoing stories and inquiries on behalf of the university.

Electronic Media Team

The Electronic Media Team manages the official online presence of Hardin-Simmons University including its website, social media platforms, and electronic campus messaging. As a primary communication channel with students and external audiences, the Electronic Media Team seeks deep collaboration and integration with internal constituents in developing and implementing messages which utilize the HSU website and social media. Additionally, this division also provides and coordinates photographic and video services in conjunction with creative services and assists in overseeing the university’s online calendar as well as internal project management platforms for the OMC.

The Special Events and Programs Team extends the hospitality culture of Hardin-Simmons University to all seeking to plan or host a special event on campus. Serving both internal and external audiences, this team assists in conference and event planning, facilities scheduling, menu formation, décor & design, entertainment coordination, and more. Additionally, this team often serves as a liaison for other OMC services during major campus events, and is responsible for maintaining communication among other offices across campus. Special events and programs such as Western Heritage Day and the Campus Christmas Party are led by this team.
