A new scholarship award will be available to juniors and seniors at Hardin-Simmons University beginning this spring semester.
The Maxine Durrett Earl Charitable Foundation presented a substantial gift to Hardin-Simmons University in August of 2013, specifying that the money is to be used for direct student scholarships.
The funds will be divided into two scholarships, one for a junior or senior student majoring in history, and one to be awarded to a junior or senior student majoring in political science.
