Senior Art Students Present Color Shrapnel y Relaciones

Exhibit of Cesar Khan and Sandra Deanda

Thursday, November 08, 2012

Cesar Khan’s series “Fools Journey” is a color-infused burst of paint. It follows the struggle between modern and postmodern systems through an abstract narrative of colors. Inspired by the very processes that build our world, ‘Fools Journey’ makes its viewers into explorers in the fragmented rule of post-modernity and archeologist to the fallen ruins of modernity.

Sandra Deanda’s series “Relaciones” is an eclectic collection of multiple medium works. In this series the artist is inspired by how her parental relationships affected her experiences in romantic relationships. Utilizing military and Dia De Los Muertos imagery the artist creates a magical world of love, heartache, and the battle to survive it all, while staying hopeful.
