Dr. Virginia Connally, a 1933 graduate of Hardin-Simmons and Abilene's first female physician, will be featured Thursday, October 18, 2012, during the monthly Museum Matters: Engaging History program at The Grace Museum. The program begins at 6 p.m. and is free.
Connally, who will be 100 on Dec. 4, will be present for the program, which will be presented by Loretta Fulton, who wrote a biography of Connally titled, "Virginia Connally, M.D.: Trailblazing Physician, Woman of Faith."
Connally has been a member of First Baptist Church since coming to Abilene in 1930. She is well known for her generous contributions to faith-based causes and institutions, including endowing the Connally Missions Center at HSU.
