On Tuesday, October 15th the HSU Orchestra under the direction of Peter Isaacson will be presenting an evening of popular standards and a Broadway revue featuring Melody Rich, soprano, Jaynne Middleton, soprano, Lynnette Chambers, mezzo-soprano, Christopher Hollingsworth, and guest artist Rosie Hollingsworth, soprano. The program will include excerpts from Follies, Sweeney Todd, Chess, Jekyll and Hyde, Kismet, Nine, Wonderful Town, The Sound of Music and Showboat. Also on the program will be Arturo Márquez’s exciting and rhythmically powerful, Danzón No. 2 made popular by the stunning performance of the Simon Bolivar Youth Orchestra and conductor, Gustav Dudamel in 2011 at the Proms Festival. The performance will be at 7:30 p.m. in Behrens Auditorium and is free to students, faculty and the general public.
