F. Larry Wheeler has made Abilene and HSU his home since 1988, having begun his college teaching career 4 years earlier at Wayland Baptist University. He is currently HSU Theatre Department Chair, Technical Director and Associate Professor of Theatre, teaching all theatre design courses as well as stagecraft, theatre management, and theatre appreciation. He is an active member of Pioneer Drive Baptist Church where he is involved in the music ministry as a choir member, soloist, and part of the church's Easter pageant as a soloist and actor. A native of Midland, Texas, he graduated from Austin College and Dallas Theological Seminary, and has done advanced study in theatre at Trinity University and Texas Tech University. He is a member of Alpha Psi Omega National Dramatic Fraternity, Who's Who Among American Teachers and Texas Educational Theatre Organization.
