Hardin-Simmons University has a rich history and heritage that is tied to the history of Texas and the preservation of the history of West Texas in particular. I feel very blessed to teach in the same department where Dr. Rupert N. Richardson once taught Texas history. I enjoy all of the experiences that HSU makes available to the students, faculty and staff as well. I can see a play, experience a live musical performance, take in an art exhibit, hear an accomplish scholar share their work, and enjoy an athletic event all without leaving the Forty Acres. The environment has allowed me to become enriched intellectually, spiritually, and professionally as well as contributed in positive ways to my family life. I would expect that potential students, faculty or staff would find the same to be true for them.
