Dr. Karla
Ordonez

Dr. Karla Ordonez,
adjunct professor of flute at HSU, also
teaches at McMurry and Abilene Christian universities. An active adjudicator
and clinician, she has judged several southwest regional competitions and
presents lectures from “Baroque Flute: Past & Present” to “How to Practice:
Middle Schoolers.”
She has performed in the Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra,
Tulsa Symphony Orchestra, the Chautauqua Institution Summer Orchestra,
Classical Music Festival in Austria, and North Carolina School of the Art’s
European International Program touring France, Italy, and Spain.
Ordonez was former faculty at the Eastman Community School
of Music, Oklahoma State University, and Houghton College. She received
performance degrees from Louisiana State University, University of North Texas,
and Eastman School of Music.
