Dr. Omer Hancock


Dr. Omer J. Hancock is director of in-service training and professor of church ministry, providing courses in Bible, ministry, and field education.Through the In-Service Training Office, students receive guidance in the call to vocational ministry, opportunities to gain experiences in churches and ministry, financial aid for both undergraduate and graduate levelvocational ministry students, and field education classes in churches and other areas of ministry.

He holds an undergraduate degree from Oklahoma Baptist University with a major in speech and a double minor in religion and philosophy, two graduate degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a major in Old Testament and two minors in ethics and archaeology.Prior to arriving on the campus of HSU in 1981, he served as pastor in Texas and Oklahoma, 1969 - 1981.
