Being a University instructor is a second career for Jodie McGaughey, visiting professor of accounting. After 24 successful years in business, McGaughey felt it was important to teach the significance of commerce to the next generation of American leaders. McGaughey chose to teach at the Hardin-Simmons University Kelley College of Business (KCOB), because most of the instructors in the KCOB are current or former business managers/owners who understand and promote free markets.

McGaughey works to demonstrate the need of society for successful businesses which improve all individuals' standards of living and provide the funding for Christian not-for-profits and arts.

McGaughey is an active Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Mr. McGaughey encourages and works to prepare HSU accounting majors to become CPAs. In his consulting practice, McGaughey assists other business executives in formulating and executing business decisions in various industries.
