Dr. Fei Gao

Dr. Fei Gao, assistant professor of finance, received his
bachelor’s degree in international finance from the Southwestern University of
Finance and Economics in ChengDu, China, where he had lived for 30 years before
coming to the United States.
After working in the Agricultural Bank of China, the second
largest bank in China, as a loan manager for four more years, Gao came to the
United States to complete his M.B.A. at the University of Louisiana at Monroe.
In 2006, Gao started his Ph.D. program in finance at the
University of North Texas. After graduation in 2010, Gao became an assistant
professor of finance at HSU.
Gao enjoys the Christian atmosphere at HSU where he can talk
about Christianity freely and teach students in a Christian worldview. He also
likes the friendly people at HSU and the small size of classes where he can
have many interactions with the students.
Currently Gao teaches several finance classes, including Principles
of Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Investments, International Finance,
and Derivatives. He serves on the International Student Committee and
International Studies Committee and devotes time to help HSU recruit more
international students.
Gao’s research interests are investments and corporate
finance, and he has published two papers in The
Journal of Banking and Finance, and Advances
in Quantitative Analysis of Finance and Accounting.
Gao and his wife, Wei, have a daughter and a son. In his
spare time, Gao enjoys reading, traveling, and music.
