Dr. Andrew Potter

Dr. Andrew Potter, professor of mathematics and head of the
HSU Department of Mathematics, was born in Marshall, Texas, during the (Lyndon)
Johnson Administration, the youngest of four children. His father is a Southern
Baptist pastor, his mother a retired elementary school teacher. Potter was originally
employed at HSU in 1995 (during the Clinton Administration).
Potter and his wife, Jeannette, live in Callahan County,
between Clyde and Baird, with their two dogs: Cali, a Catahoula, and Copper, a
pointer. The Potters have been married since 1992 and are members of Pioneer
Drive Baptist Church in Abilene. Jeannette is a registered nurse employed at
Hendrick Medical Center.
Potter enjoys walking his dogs on their property as well as
performing Tae Kwon Do at Team Chip Tae Kwon Do Center in Abilene where he has
earned his second degree black belt. Dr. Potter also enjoys singing choral
music with the HSU Chorale when his schedule permits.
