Dr. Angela Nicolini
Dr. Angela Nicolini. Dr Nicolini is an Army brat, and considers herself to be 'from everywhere.' She was born in Kassell, Germany, and has lived in countries all over the world including Italy, Saudi Arabia, and England. Dr Nicolini is a retired optometrist. After practicing optometry in Abilene for most of her eighteen-year career, she sold her private practice in July of 2011. She has been teaching at Hardin Simmons University as an adjunct professor in the biology department since the Fall of 2012, and enjoys the academic environment immensely. She especially enjoys offering guidance to pre-health students who are trying to find their perfect career path. After losing her husband, Edward Wooten (an officer in the United States Air Force) in 2001 to cancer, she established a memorial scholarship at Hardin Simmons, where he had been a student, in honor of his memory. Her hobbies include volunteering in the community, particularly in the Kiwanis Club of Greater Abilene, and the Abilene Interfaith Council; hanging out with her dogs; and writing. Her twin sister lives in Hawaii, so she makes sure to take at least one trip a year to visit her in paradise. Dr Nicolini is very pleased to be a faculty member at the highest-ranked university in Abilene, Texas.
