Dr. Andrea Jensen

Andrea Jensen
,
Ph.D. is chair of the department of Biology and an Assistant Professor of
Biology at Hardin-Simmons University. She came to HSU in 2006. Areas of
expertise include entomology, population genetics, and molecular
systematics. She serves as the curator
for the HSU Collection of Arthropods. She has worked with students to design, plant, and maintain a Butterfly
Garden in Lueders, Texas. She is
currently planning and designing a Butterfly Garden for the HSU campus. She is a member of the academic advisory
board to the Au Sable Environmental Institute. She has served as the systematics and evolutionary biology section chair
of the Texas Academy of Science and is a member of the Association of College
and University Biology Educators. In her
free time she enjoys insect photography, baking, and spending time with her
family.
