If you would like to take the ACT Residual, check in at the Dyess Welcome Center by 11:45am and bring a photo ID, $35 cash or money order, #2 pencil, calculator. The test will be from 12:15 to 4:30pm. Thank you.

Experience HSU on a Cowboy Friday! Cowboy Fridays are special group visit days for prospective students to learn more about HSU and, if desired, take the ACT Residual Exam.

On a Cowboy Friday, you can take part in the following activities:

  • Sit in on a class (This option is only offered during the fall & spring semesters)
  • Go on a campus tour
  • Visit with representatives from admissions & financial aid
  • Take the ACT Residual Exam 
  • Enjoy lunch in the HSU Dining Hall

What is the ACT Residual? The ACT Residual is just like the national ACT test with the following exceptions:

  • Campus Based - the ACT Residual is good only at HSU and cannot be transferred.
  • Small Test Groups - no large cafeterias or gymnasiums with hundreds of test takers.
  • Quicker Scoring - HSU will score your test within 5 business days; no more waiting several weeks.
  • Costs Less - the ACT Residual at HSU costs only $35!

 

What to bring if taking the ACT Residual Exam:

  • Photo ID (Ex: Driver's License, School ID)
  • $35 (Cash or money order only. Credit cards and checks will not be accepted.)
  • #2 pencils
  • Calculator
