Hi! My name is Jana McAlexander and I am the admissions consultant for all out of state and transfer students. Coming to a new state or transferring to a new school can be tough, and I understand that.

I am originally from Greenville, South Carolina. My family moved around from Mississippi, to Kentucky to finally settling in Texas. I have lived the longest in Rockwall, Texas where I graduated from Rockwall High School and then came to Hardin-Simmons in the fall of 2002. I graduated with a double major in Telecommunication and Psychology.

I knew that Hardin-Simmons was the place I wanted to attend college after the first day on campus. I have grown in all aspects of my life especially in my relationship with God and in my education.

Throughout my four years at HSU I have acquired a thousand crazy memories. I have enjoyed good times such as ghost hunting, every home football game, basketball games, late nights at IHOP, movies by the pond, mud fights, and the welcoming atmosphere at Hardin Simmons.

Choosing a college is an important decision, and I hope you make the decision that brings you closer to the heart of God. We would love to see you here on campus so you can make your own wonderful HSU memories.

If you have any questions please feel free to call me at 1-800-GOHSUTX x 1466 or you can e-mail me at jmcalexander@hsutx.edu or drop by for a visit. I will be looking forward to talking with you.

In a large house there are articles not only of gold and silver, but also of wood and clay; some are for noble purposes and some for ignoble. If a man cleanses himself from the latter, he will be an instrument for noble purposes, made holy, useful to the Master and prepared to do any good work. 2 Timothy 2:21-22
