“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Isn’t it so great that there is a plan already established for our lives! I am so thankful that God blessed me and led me to Hardin-Simmons University.
HI! My name is Elizabeth Lain, and I am the Hardin-Simmons Senior Admissions Consultant for the Fort Worth, Austin, & Waco areas.
I was raised in Allen, TX and joined the Hardin-Simmons family in the fall of 1999. I graduated from HSU in the spring of 2003 with a degree in Public Relations and a minor in Leadership. It was in these four short years that I grew to love this university. HSU has a special and unique way of mentoring to its students. I know that as a student I grew in many ways. I grew socially and made friendships that are irreplaceable. I grew academically, graduating with honors and reaching other academic goals I never dreamed possible. I grew spiritually, committing to make my relationship with Christ above everything else, and I am praying that I never stop growing.
There are so many things that contributed to my love for Hardin-Simmons University. It started by living with 25 of my “best friends” in Behrens Hall, and having late night study groups at I-HOP. I loved the classes where the teachers began with a prayer, and the nights when we would spend hours watching movies by the Hardin-Simmons Pond. Weekends were always appreciated because I knew it meant sleeping in and going to a “foot function” (that is HSU for “dance”). I wish I could spend time telling you about how I made my best friends on a road trip to Colorado, and how I met my husband doing a skit for New Student Orientation; but who am I kidding? Even if we had all of the time in the world, I could only start to tell you of the joys Hardin-Simmons has brought to my life.
Choosing a college is a very important decision. I encourage you to pray about where God wants you to attend college. He has a plan for your life and will be faithful to guide you. Trust in Him!
I would love to tell you more about HSU and answer any questions you might have. Feel free to come visit with me at our campus or you can contact me by phone or email at 1-800-568-2692 and elain@hsutx.edu .
