Hardin-Simmons welcomes applications from students who have been homeschooled for all or part of their elementary and secondary education. Our low student-to-faculty ratio of 12:1 provides close interaction with faculty and cultivates a rich and intimate learning environment.

    Application Requirements

Homeschooled applicants must meet specific application requirements to be considered for admission to Hardin-Simmons University. Review the items below, and visit our Admissions Page for details on applying to the university.

    Testing

We require the ACT or SAT test. Minimum requirements are ACT = 20 (with writing) or SAT = 1390 (with writing).

    Transcript

A transcript is required if you have taken any high school or college classes or if you are pursuing a self-study curriculum supervised by outside instructors who provide feedback or grades. If no transcript is available, you must provide a detailed syllabus of topics studied and books used.

    Interview

An on-campus interview with an admissions counselor is encouraged. Coming to campus for a tour to sit in on a class and to meet faculty and students is the best way to evaluate HSU's offerings and environment. Click here to schedule an interview or tour or to register for an admission event.

    Scholarships

Homeschooled applicants are eligible for merit scholarship consideration. We review their credentials on a case-by-case basis.
