Application Checklist

Freshman Admission

A student applying for admission as a freshman must submit the following:

  • APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
  • FORMS
    Print out and mail the applicable forms from the "Print & Mail Forms" box in the sidebar to the right.
  • TRANSCRIPTS
    An official high school transcript showing completion of the junior year and a documented class rank. A final official copy must also be submitted upon high school graduation. If you have taken any dual-credit/concurrent enrollment courses, official transcripts need to be sent (upon completion) from each of the colleges or universities attended.
  • SATISFACTORY ACT AND/OR SAT SCORES WITH A WRITING SCORE
    We will accept your highest composite score. We will not mix and match scores from separate exams. HSU requires a writing score of both the ACT and SAT.

Transfer Admission

A student applying for admission as a transfer must submit the following:

  • APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION
  • FORMS
    Print out and mail the applicable forms from the "Print & Mail Forms" box in the sidebar to the left.
  • TRANSCRIPTS
    An official transcript needs to be sent from each of the colleges or universities attended.
    Transfer students with less than 24 transferable hours must also submit a high school transcript and satisfactory scores on the ACT or SAT exams.

Enrollment Deposit

A $300 enrollment deposit for all new students must be paid prior to class registration. The deposit is refundable prior to May 1st. The deposit will be added to first semester costs.


The state requires that all incoming new students under the age of 30 must have the meningitis vaccine within the last 5 years and at least 10 days prior to the first day of class. In addition, Hardin-Simmons University requires every new incoming student under 30 years of age who intends to live on campus to have had the meningitis vaccine within the last 5 years prior to the first day of class and at least 10 days prior to the first day of moving on campus.
