Fitness and Sport Sciences

The Fitness and Sports Sciences Department (FSSC) has a commitment to students. At HSU, students are provided easy access to expert guidance in their studies. The faculty has an active concern for the progress of every student and works to help students meet their career objectives.

The Fitness and Sports Sciences Department offer programs leading to a Bachelor of Behavioral Science degree in the following areas:

  1. Athletic Training
  2. Exercise Science (minor required)
  3. Physical Education – Teacher Certification all – level physical education
  4. Sports, Fitness, and Leisure Studies (minor required)
  5. Kinesiology, Sport, and Recreation Graduate Program

These four programs provide experience that will ensure a broad education background, provide basic concepts, principles, evaluation and administration of physical education programs. Students who plan to coach in the public schools should opt for physical education that leads to teacher certifications.
