Students within the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics are provided an excellent education with a Christian perspective. Through comprehensive classroom, laboratory, and field experiences, students receive a strong foundation of preparation for careers in health professions, education, industry, graduate and professional programs, and research.

Tracks of study within the Holland School lead to preparation for graduate or professional schools in physical and occupational therapy, physician’s assistant, medical, dental, engineering, optometry, and veterinary studies.

Teaching certification in life sciences, composite sciences, mathematics, and physical science is also offered cooperatively through the Irvin School of Education.

Undergraduate Studies
Three undergraduate degrees are offered in the Holland School, including the bachelor of arts (B.A.), bachelor of behavioral science (B.B.S.), and bachelor of science.  For specific requirements leading to these degrees, please refer to the Academic Organization and Degrees section of the University Catalog.

Graduate Studies
Students wishing to pursue graduate studies in the Department of Physical Therapy at HSU have the opportunity to enter the combined B.A. or B.S.-D.P.T. (doctor of physical therapy) program. This dual degree option permits students to receive both degrees in five years of study.

Graduate studies leading to the master of science (M.S.) in environmental management and the doctor of physical therapy (D.P.T.) are offered through the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics.

I received a much needed blessing and a scholarship to pursue a teaching certificate in secondary science. I consider myself very blessed with the opportunities I have been given and the people I have met.
