Welcome to the Patty Hanks Shelton School of Nursing! The faculty, staff and students at PHSSN are proud to be associated with the three excellent Christian universities in Abilene, TX. After completing two years of general education requirements, accepted students from Hardin Simmons University, Abilene Christian University, and McMurry University join at PHSSN for their final two years of nursing education to complete a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. During the third and fourth years of nursing education, students spend time in the classroom, in a state of the art clinical simulation lab, and in a variety of actual clinical settings. Upon completion of the BSN degree requirements, graduates are eligible to sit for the national licensing exam (NCLEX- RN) to become registered nurses. Nursing is an exciting and rewarding professional field! Most graduates have jobs of their choice prior to graduation in numerous specialties and settings. Nursing provides a career path for students to make a significant difference in the lives of others. At PHSSN, we seek to educate students in nursing for Christian leadership and service throughout the world. May God bless and guide your decisions and educational journey. We look forward to meeting and working with you! Susan Kehl, RN, MSN, CNE
