• Bike Ride Across Texas

  • Bike Across Texas (BRAT) started in 2013 as a class project. The first ride from El Paso to Texarkana was so successful that we planned and completed another, longer ride in May of 2014 from Brownsville, TX to Liberal, KS. For the summer of 2015, we are are dreaming even BIGGER and shooting for a ride into Canada!

The ride is organized by students in the Leadership Studies Program in a Leadership Workshop class, that entails planning and executing a substantive project with a philanthropic/service emphasis. Along with route mapping and bicycle training, students raise money for gasoline, lodging, food, signs, t-shirts, equipment, and bicycle supplies.
