The HSU Honors Program Honors Program Application

  • Membership in an Honors community within the larger, more diverse student body increases contact with classmates with higher standards and similar interests in the pursuit of knowledge.
  • In addition to basic Academic Scholarships, including the newly established Leland Scholarship, students admitted to the Honors Program receive an honors scholarship for each semester, as long as they are in good standing in the program.
  • Eligibility for limited-enrollment Honors classes --- Reserved sections of core courses, courses created for Honors students, and independent Honors studies classes maintain smaller enrollments to ensure more interactive learning.
  • Representation on the Honors Council --- Honors students are encouraged to be involved in every aspect of the Honors Program, from courses taught to extracurricular activities.
  • Workshops, field trips, and social functions.
  • Recognition at graduation.
