Counseling and Human Development

The COHD program prepares individuals for counselor positions in a variety of settings, including public and private education, as well as a wide variety of human services settings. It also meets the academic content area and practicum requirements of the Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors for the Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential.

More than 30 program graduates have completed doctoral degrees in psychology and counseling. Some were program presenters for the recent World Congress on Logotherapy, an international professional conference also attended by faculty and graduate students from HSU.
