Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics

Students within the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics are provided an excellent education with a Christian perspective. Through comprehensive classroom, laboratory, and field experiences, students receive a strong foundation of preparation for careers in health professions, education, industry, graduate and professional programs, and research.

Graduate studies leading to the master of science (M.S.) in environmental management and the doctor of physical therapy (D.P.T.) are offered through the Holland School of Sciences and Mathematics.

Students wishing to pursue graduate studies in the Department of Physical Therapy at HSU have the opportunity to enter the combined B.A. or B.S.-D.P.T. (doctor of physical therapy) program. This dual degree option permits students to receive both degrees in five years of study.

Our faculty bring a wealth of academic, professional, research, and clinical experience. We are dedicated to the continual growth and intellectual stimulation of our students. Professional faculty development includes active memberships in state, national, and international organizations and societies, publications in peer-reviewed journals, and direct involvement of undergraduate and graduate students in research projects. Faculty also work closely with the Abilene community to foster awareness of education and service locally.

A multitude of teaching techniques, including traditional lectures, interactive computer simulations, classical dissections and laboratory experimentation, seminars, field trips and data collection, and internships are the hallmark of our programs.
