
Karin S. Brown is an Assistant Professor for the Department of Criminal Justice at Hardin-Simmons University. Professor Brown received a Bachelor of Behavioral Science in Criminal Justice and a Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development, both from Hardin-Simmons University.
Professor Brown is a licensed professional counselor and consultant for the Taylor County Juvenile Probation Department. Prior to joining the faculty at Hardin-Simmons, she served as a juvenile justice detention officer, specialized juvenile probation officer, a substance abuse counselor, a youth minister, a psychotherapist and a consultant in the field of criminal justice. Presentations include Chief and Detention Officer Conferences.
Her lecture and research interests include innovative approaches to corrections, system reform, and corporeal implications for the etiology of aberrant behavior.
